Statman Dave's video: How Donny van de Beek Improves Solskjaer s Manchester United

Welcome back guys! Today we’ve got a new Man United video for you. After another fine performance from Donny van de Beek against Istanbul Basaksehir. Man Utd fans have been calling to see the dutchman start consistently in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United set up. So let’s take a look at how Donny van de Beek can make a difference for Solskjaer’s side. For Ajax, van de Beek largely played in Bruno’s position so it’s no surprise that he’s found it difficult to displace the man who’s been directly involved in 34 goals in his first 35 games for Manchester United. Because of this Donny’s mainly been used as an option off the bench but he’s still managed to influence games despite averaging just 14.6 minutes per Premier League appearance. He scored with his first shot in a United shirt & within 10 minutes of coming on against Arsenal, he came the closest to equalising when he forced Elneny to hit his own post. His most recent impressive performance came playing from deep alongside Fred in a double pivot. The dutchman had an impressive night against the Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir and it was a good example of how Solskjaer could fit VDB in the same team as Bruno Fernandes. From this deeper position, Van de Beek finds himself with time and space to orchestrate United’s build up. And this is something that’s massively lacking from United’s midfield which can force Bruno Fernandes to drop deep to organise.
