Statman Dave's video: 6 Players Newcastle United Should Sign In 2022

@6 Players Newcastle United Should Sign In 2022
Welcome back! Today we’re taking a look 6 Players Newcastle United Should Sign In 2022 but rather than looking at just one or two, I think Newcastle should make all 6 and then I’ll go over how the new eleven could operate. Tactically, Eddie Howe has a blank canvas and whilst he’s used a 4-4-2 in his opening games and a 4-3-3 against the best sides, I think a 4-2-3-1 could reallly suit the Magpies. Realistically, the entire first team can be improved but signing new: centre backs, central midfielders, a left back and a striker should be a priority. ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube With Dubravka in goal, Jamaal Lascelles and winter signing Kieran Trippier, Newcastle have the makings of a decent back five. Ideally, a ball playing centre back would blend well with club captain Lascelles. Sven Botman is reported to be their number one target and he’d be an incredible addition. Emerging as one of the top defensive talents in Lille’s title winning season, Botman is a powerful defender. The Dutchman has struggled to find the consistency of last season but there’s still a top talent in there and Botman would bring guile to the centre back partnership. Diego Carlos is reported to be next on their shortlist and he’d be a big upgrade on Lascelles. As much as the Brazilian has a moment of madness in his game, Carlos is still a good player. He’s a very aggressive defender and a good ball player, and as much as he’d be the no-nonsense stopper of the partnership, Carlos would be more than capable of playing out from the back. This duo would provide a strong centre for Newcastle to build out from and Sven Botman could be their Vincent Kompany, a rock to build the spine of the team around. ► CHECK US OUT ON TWITCH: http://bit.ly/SMDTwitch Left back is another priority highlighted by Eddie Howe and Lucas Digne has been heavily linked. Whilst the Frenchman would be a considerable upgrade, Borna Sosa is who Newcastle should pick up and at 23 years old, Sosa would solve the left back position for a number of years. A crossing full back, Sosa tends to adopt high and wide positions where he can receive passes and cross. This is very much his first thought, either crossing first time or beating his man and immediately crossing. His defensive game is a statistical weakness but offensively he’s one of the best in Europe and would be well worth the risk. ► Statman Dave Clips http://bit.ly/StatmanClips Struggling to dominate the centre of the pitch a new midfield duo are needed. Generally speaking, a good double pivot is made up of a ball winner or a destroyer paired with a more creative player. Bruno Guimarães could be the all-action playmaker whilst Manu Kone is the destroyer. Too good to play for the current Newcastle side, signing Guimaraes would be a statement signing from the Magpies. A roaming playmaker in possession but a tenacious ball winner without it, Guimarães is a Segundo Volante that would walk into most Champions League 1st XI’s. He’s technically superb with an incredible range of passing but he doesn’t shy away from the defensive side either. Koné meanwhile is another all-action player. His skill set is very much where football is going. He’s a technical athlete: Strong, athletic and powerful with a good turn of pace but technically very good and very composed in possession. Very highly rated Manu Kone could form the spine of Newcastle’s team for years to come. ► JOIN PATREON: https://bit.ly/StatmanPatreon In terms of forward options Newcastle definitely need a striker. The Magpies have been linked to just about everybody: Aubameyang, Martial, Origi and Solanke to name a few but one stands out for me and that’s Chris Wood. With creativity coming from the full back areas, Wood is an ideal target for whipped crosses and he wouldn’t need to adapt to life in the Premier League, strengthening Newcastle whilst weakening fellow relegation candidates Burnley.
