Ste Staley's video: GameSeek - HOW it Ended and Why The Final days of the Specialist Video Games and Toy Retailer

@GameSeek - HOW it Ended and Why. The Final days of the Specialist Video Games and Toy Retailer.
I have been asked many times since the end of GameSeek; how it ended? why did it end? Now 2 Years later; I summarise this in the video. There is so much more i could say however it is a disappointing story and exceedingly difficult time of my life. If anything good can come out of this hopefully i could help someone else that maybe facing a similar situation in his/her business today. My message to Entrepreneurs: Please think long and hard before you ever start working with a Business Recovery team. They get paid no matter what. Be so careful and get multiple opinions before trusting them. If you do work with any debt recovery team be vigilant; they will be nice to you in person and on the phone because they can smell the money - they may tell you verbally that everything is going to be fantastic. However, only follow what they say on paper. Read what they are writing down not what they are verbally saying because later they will pretend they never said it. Question them on everything. Understand that they may not there to help you; they maybe there to help themselves. Be so careful and the best of luck. I wish you all the success. GameSeek was a specialist retailer of Video Gaming and Toy products. It became most important Video Games Company in the UK after GAME; built by Stephen with all his savings; £53! - launching soon after he left university in 2002. By 2013 the company was on a massive upward trajectory and with the closure of Play.com, Stephen jumped on the first plane to Jersey and bought automated packing machinery worth £1m GBP including 2x iPAC B+ Machines, 2x Dexion Paternosters and more; including a PKK Machine able to pack 1,200 Video Games an hour. In the same year the business moved into what eventually became a state of the art 20,000 Sq Ft HQ in Winsford, Cheshire. Valued at £9.5m GBP ($12.3m USD) in Q3 2016 the company was going from strength to strength. The same year the company was shipping as many as 7,500 items a day at peak. Sadly personal tragedy struck in May 2017 ultimately started a chain of events that led to the end of the company. Within 12 months, the dream had become a memory. Stephens vision was to make one of the biggest marketplaces in the world by building and linking together a further 7 e-commerce websites selling collectively everything; but each one specialised and leading its own sector. All 8 marketplaces would be joined via SAAS Marketplace Platform‎ Mirakl that had already been purchased. It would of been a unique and special offering for global retailers that will now unfortunately not come to fruition. GameSeek proudly put the customer first for years, smashing Amazons pricing on new releases by as much as £15 per unit; famously selling the Nintendo Switch at launch for £198.50 and being the goto place for a massive community of loyal Video Gamers; amassing over 3 million customers during its lifetime with zero outside investment.
