'The Omen' is a supernatural thriller from 1976. It was directed by Richard Donner and based on a script by David Seltzer, who also wrote the novel. The cast includes such stars as Gregory Peck, Lee Remick and David Warner. The film spawned two direct sequels ('Damien: The Omen II' and 'The Final Conflict') and one remake ('The Omen 666'). The film revolves around a child called Damien (Harvey Stephens). He is the son of Robert (Peck) and Katherine Thorn (Remick), only Robert knows that the boy was adopted after the real child died mysteriously. When Damien is only a few years old a number of horrific events lead Robert to believe that his son is actually the spawn of Satan himself. Damien is the Anti-Christ who was put on Earth to destroy humanity. One of the most fascinating aspects of this film is Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack. The composer won an Academy Award for his music and it remains as haunting today as it was over 30 years ago. 'The Omen' and its music belong to 20th Century Fox.
