I converted a toy drone called a whoop into an RC airplane. The ultimate goal is to fly with FPV. But this was difficult. Unlike drones, WhoopX is difficult to control rolling. Therefore, it is necessary to rotate the propeller a lot in order to roll. However, the transmitter deprive power, and the power to rotate the propeller is insufficient. WhoopX became difficult to maneuver and crashed a lot. Another thing is that it is difficult to maintain altitude. The altitude of the drone is maintained by the throttle, and the altitude of the airplane is maintained by pitching. When the altitude goes down, the drone can recover the altitude in an instant. In order for an airplane to recover altitude, it must first change its attitude. If you are doing FPV on an airplane, the altitude return operation will be delayed. When you can see the ground, you cannot tell whether the altitude is down or the nose is down. This problem could be overcome with pilot flight techniques. Or it may be due to the power shortage mentioned above. My dream is to build a quad plane and fly it with FPV. One came true and one abandoned.
