Steve M Nash's video: Weekly Wonder 31 of 52 - Trina Paulus Butterfly QUOTE

@Weekly Wonder #31 of #52 - Trina Paulus Butterfly QUOTE
As this was another "single take" video, I forgot to say a few things that might have been helpful. Hey ho! Still, I can share them here: * About CORONAVIRUS Many of us now seem to want to do life differently, inside the current Coronavirus lockdown. To consume less, rush less, do less etc. So that might be what it means to be a butterfly rather than a caterpillar for you, then? # BUTTERFLY - new life # CATERPILLAR - excuses, fears, old ways * About FREE WILL No free will? Isn't that the craziest thing to say, or to think? Maybe. But let me ask you a few questions about this, anyway: # Do we get to choose our thoughts? (Please, don't dismiss this first question.) Do we? Seriously? Or how about choosing our intelligence, or appearance or our talents (or the talent to make the most of those talents)? Do we get to choose those things? # Or how about choosing to 'get it'? Like 'getting' a joke, or truly understanding something for the first time (an insight), or even having an inspirational (out-of-the-blue) idea. Do we get to choose when (or even if) this happens?... We *may* get to influence, but do we get to choose? * About SELF-HELP This is why I'm not so much a fan of self-help, these days, or any kind of transformational method or understanding that is guaranteed to work. All that can ever be on offer is 'influence', 'encouragement' and 'pointing'. Just because it worked for you, doesn't mean it will work for me. Ask any of the millions of unsuccessful dieters. Reverse engineering, when it comes to human beings anyway, is vastly overrated. To my mind, the Emperor is wearing no clothes! Still, my guru-free self-help website is here: https://www.SelfHelpCollective.com * About The INSIDE-OUT UNDERSTANDING This particular understanding is singularly the best, most practical 'thing' I have ever come across (so far!). A pointing 'within'. It definitely has helped me; it definitely helps others; and my suffering is less, my happiness more. Is it the "magic bullet" that its proponents consider it to be? Will this understanding magic away suffering, and lead to unconditional happiness? Is it the "final answer" that will save humanity? Or, will you find yourself still seeking, still wanting to "deepen your understanding", still needing to listen to others rather than to yourself? (Does any 'understanding' - even non-duality - not end up with perpetual 'seeking'?) Hah, I don't know. Anyway, find out more about the Inside-Out Understanding a la me, here: https://www.smnash.com * About TRINA PAULUS I dont' know anything about Trina, except that she seems to be a novellist. You can find out more about here via this Goodreads.com link, however: https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/55572.Trina_Paulus ~~ Any-way, after all that, here's the quote by Trina Paulus... "How does one become a butterfly? You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar." ~~ You can subscribe to Weekly Wonder here - http://www.selfhelpcollective.com/newsletter.html And learn more about the Inside-Out understanding here - http://www.smnash.com And watch the older version of this video here - https://www.selfhelpcollective.com/trina-paulus-free-quote.html
