A Kalamazoo in Pemiscot County: Robert Johnson and Johnny Shines in Steele, Missouri. A Research Paper by John Seabaugh.
I've spent the spring and summer, trying to find any information I can about the guitars Robert Johnson, and Johnny Shines, bought in late 1937, Steele, MO. As you can guess, not much information is to be found.
However, I did find a few interesting tidbits. Not to mention, I learned a whole lot about what life was like back in the 1930's Pemiscot County, especially in that area above the Arkansas/Missouri state line.
Undoubtedly, there was a lot of rough and rumblin'' going on. It was the perfect place for the blues.
If you can, let me know what you think. I'd love any and all questions...so don't be afraid to ask. I'll do my best to answer them.
The music is by the "Mini Vandals." It's part of the free music Youtube provides...
