Still Livin' the Blues's video: Relic d Harley Benton TE52
@Relic'd Harley Benton TE52
I'm really not into relic'd guitars...I mean, there are plenty of pretty ones and stuff, but I'm just not into doing them. However, this guitar was different. I bought it from a friend for $50 bucks. It's a Harley Benton TE-52...and the truss rod doesn't work.
Right now...the neck has a small bow in it. Over time, it will get worse. The frets were pretty bad on it also, but I did a little work on them.
Thomann's Harley Benton TE-52 is obviously an Fender Telecaster inspired guitar. What I like about is that the neck is thick...and the body is solid and heavy. Those two points alone make it feel like it's worth more than the $130 bucks you can buy a new one with. After that tho...things get hit or miss. Changing the electronics will improve it. The tuners...well, they aren't that good. I've played two of these, and both needed work on the frets.
Still, the foundation is good...and if you are wanting a cheap guitar to learn some stuff on...this might be the one for you!
