Still Livin' the Blues's video: Does It Deacy Can A Cigar Box Amp Sound Like the Brian May Deacy Amp
@Does It Deacy? Can A Cigar Box Amp Sound Like the Brian May Deacy Amp?
Does it Deacy?!??!?!
Can it Deacy?!!?!?!
This is the question many Brian May/Queen tone purists ask when seeking for that perfect Deacy Amp tone.
Did I accomplish this? No way...but I do REALLY like this special setup and extremely unique amp. I know that in a million years, I probably couldn't replicate this unique amp...but man, I am GLAD it's in my setup!
Did I have to visit the Queen's Crossroads for this? I guess you will never know! ;O)
For a lot of my gear, I use what's available. I do like to experiment with old stuff...especially speakers. I have a lot of old, junky radios and stuff that don't work, and I'll salvage parts for builds. In this case, some of it is from old radios....I know the speaker is....I have no idea what kind though. It's been too long since i actually built THIS amp.
I use these amps for small appearances, recordings, experimentation, etc...
One day, I was trying out different pedals in this amp...and there came a tone that IMO...sounded very cool...and slightly familiar! Did I hit a Deacy jackpot? Ah...I kind of doubt it. What do you think? Regardless, I love this tone. It's a keeper.
Thanks for listening! Hope all is well!
