What is a treble booster?
Basically, it is a pedal that simultaneously increases the volume, gain and high end of the tonal spectrum, while reducing some of the lower frequencies. Anyone who is familiar with Brian May, and the music of Queen, will know that a treble booster is an integral part of their guitar tone.
Brian May's guitar company has released a pedal that receates the tone of the amazing Treble Boosters Dr. May has used during the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
The 1970's tone is based on what is probably the most famous treble booster of all, the germanium Dallas Rangemaster!
The 1980's tone is based on the custom orange label. silicon BC149 transistor powered booster installed on his pedal board.
And finally, the 1990's tone comes from the original 1998 Greg Fryer strap booster.
Even if you aren't a Brian May fan, this pedal can do some pretty cool stuff, and packs some kick. It's definitely something you should check out!
