On piano is Dave Hildinger, 87. Dave has dementia, but can still play beautifully. (Oakpark Retirement Community, Ottawa, ON). For those that don't know, this is my father. He has played the piano since very young, professionally since the age of 14 or so (gigs in Detroit during WWII when piano players were scarce!). He was a jazz musician, composer, arranger and professor. Watching him at this concert was wonderful. It brought back great memories. Getting to hear Rene, Roddy, John and Joe play (see other videos) was such a treat. But, most importantly, seeing him smile was worth every minute. Thank you to all who played and attended.
