@Iraqi PM Asks NATO To Stop Turkey Oil Trade With ISIS, Dispatch Of Jihadists Into Iraq and Syria
Jihadis transit Turkey to get into the ranks of ISIS, and the Turks buy tens of millions of dollars worth of stolen diesel fuel monthly that the ISIS murderers smuggle out. Remember, Turkey is a member of NATO, It borders ISIS-controlled territory in Syria, where the black flags of the so-called “caliphate” are visible from the Turkish side of the open border. The Turkish government of former prime minister and now President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has long offered at least tacit support to Syrian radical rebels fighting against President Bashar Assad. Many of the international jihadists who joined that fight passed through Turkish territory virtually unhindered. The ISIS stolen fuel comes from Syrian and Iraq oil fields and is transported in trucks to the region bordering Turkey. The fuel is then brought into the country in plastic barrels or by pipelines. Yavuz, the political analyst, said the smugglers had helpers in Turkish villages on the border and that people involved in the illegal trade felt so safe they did not even hide their activities. “Pipelines are no longer built during the night, but in broad daylight,” he said. Yavuz said ISIS was controlling the illegal diesel trade and making money from it, but was not directly involved in all aspects. It prefers to use professional smugglers. Yavuz said demand for the cheap ISIS diesel was growing in Turkey, where “trucks take the fuel from the border region to other parts of the country.” According to Turkish media reports, smuggled diesel sells for around $0.70 a liter (or $2.65 a gallon), while the official price in Turkey is more than $1.85 a liter ($7.00 a gallon). Tanal, the opposition lawmaker, claims the smuggling itself and the lack of effective countermeasures on the Turkish side are a sign that ISIS enjoys continued support from the Turkish government. “There is cooperation,” he said. “If there wasn’t any, how can you close your eyes to the smuggling like that?” Tanal also stressed that Erdogan and his new prime minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, refused to call ISIS a terrorist organization. In addition, in retaliation for Russian military planes targeting ISIS and Turkey's oil trade routes with most feared terrorists organization around globe, President Erdogan ordered downing Russian military bomber without any legal reason. Strangely enough, Barak Hussein Obama along with the obident NATO member states, supported Turkey leadership aggressive action against Russia - primary fighting force against ISIS in Syria for the last few month. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the shoot down of the Russian jet was a “stab in the back” by Turkey to support ISIS oil shipments and financial benefit of President Erdoğan. On November 24, 2015 NATO supported Turkey after it shot a Russian jet bombing the specific region of Syria held by rebels that serves as the conduit for ISIS oil bound for Turkey. Since the shoot down, President Putin has pressed the case against Turkey’s president, Recep Erdoğan, for his support of ISIS. At the G20 meeting in Turkey in late October, Putin produced an image showing miles of oil trucks leaving ISIS oil wells headed for Turkey and discussed a list of forty nations involved in oil purchases and other financial support of ISIS. Russia bombed several oil convoys after that meeting. Shortly after that, Turkey shot down a Russian jet fighter bombing a key area for ISIS oil smuggling to Turkey. At the Paris climate conference following the shoot down, Putin made a specific claim about Turkey’s motivation for the shoot down: "The decision to shoot down the plane was dictated specifically by a desire to defend [ISIS oil] supplies" entering the “territory of Turkey.” Nevertheless, Barak Hussein Obama government dismissed the Russian evidence consisting of images of miles of oil trucks originating at ISIS oil wells then crossing the Turkish border. ISIS oil ends up at two primary destinations, the Batman oil refinery in southeastern Turkey and Mediterranean ports near Turkey’s Adana province. The value of the oil trade via Turkey is estimated between $50 and $100 million a month. Without this income, ISIS would face considerable obstacles to its ongoing military aggression, terrorist activities around the world, and subjugation of Syrians and Iraqis living under ISIS rule. If ISIS is truly an enemy of NATO countries, why does NATO protect a member state that, at the very least, enabled nearly $1.0 billion of ISIS oil sales? That sounds more like trading among allies than trading with the enemy.
