To mark the birth anniversary of the Buddha, people travel to Lumbini for special worship and rituals each year on the full moon day of Baishak to offer their devotion( shraddha). Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we are offering the tour of Lumbini with Anil Chitrakar online. A visit to sacred Lumbini is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the life and teachings of the Buddha that help us to live a life free of suffering. ANIL CHITRAKAR is a social entrepreneur and he regularly organizes heritage walks and gives inspirational talks on conservation and development. He has worked for the conservation and development of Lumbini over the last thirty years in various capacities. As a VHT leader, he will take us on a virtual tour of Lumbini and the surrounding areas, share stories, and discuss the conservation and development challenges and opportunities of the place. The Virtual Heritage Tour (VHT) is an online event where you are able to discover a multitude of tours, talks and other events in your city and at the same time, you will be able to interact with heritage and celebrate culture from the comfort of your homes as you practice social distancing. VHT will facilitate online heritage tour series where you can read articles, watch videos, listen to interviews and browse image galleries.
