After the Prophet (peace be upon him), the Shiites believe only in the Imamate of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib and consider him only as the successor of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the first innocent Imam. Shiites or Shiites do not recognize the Khilafah ideology. On the contrary, they believe in the doctrine of Imamate.
