Storyful's video: Heartwarming Moment Stepfather Receives Adoption Papers for Son on Christmas Eve

Christmas was made all the more merrier for an Edinburg, Texas, man and his family after they received long-awaited adoption papers for his stepson on December 24. Melissa Garza, who shot this footage, told Storyful she and her husband, Armando, first lodged the adoption papers in 2018. “My husband has been in my son’s life since he was 10-months-old,” she said. “We waited and waited and [it] seemed the day would never come.” In the video, Armando Garza and his stepson, Ayden, tearfully embrace each other as he reads the adoption certificate aloud. “My son had dreamed about this day for a long time,” Mrs Garza said.
