Stylish D Tailors's video: Jeans DOWNSIZING Tutorial STEP BY STEP

In this video I'm going to show you how to downsize the waist of your jeans and make them fit your waist perfectly! One of the most annoying problems guys have is buying a pair of jeans that don't fit in the waist. I got these jeans at Target for a great price, BUT they weren't my normal 34x32 size . Instead of passing on them I said to myself "I know how to use a sewing machine, I can fix this!" And fix these we can! There are a few days to go about attacking this problem. The first way is taking out equal amounts of fabric from the sides of these jeans. That can end up ruining the angle of the pockets though... Another way is to take out a big chunk of fabric from the middle right under that belt loop. That isn't a good idea either though because it will distort the seat of our jeans and make it look like we're wearing a diaper, no good...There has to be a better way... Well all you have to do is add two darts to the back just above the pockets. This is the best way because we're able to get a great shape without distorting the jeans too much. After a few minutes they look great, but we have another problem. I was too aggressive with my darts, and when you're aggressive you end up with sharp angles. Sharp angles mean dimples. So watch until the end to learn how to avoid my mistake. Either way, I was able to fix them but they're bootcut jeans, so in the next video we're going to have to change that!
