In this video I finally bring out my shelter door which I made into a sled for easier transport. during my trip my sled smashed into a tree and became damaged. I fixed the sled as best as I could and limped to camp. Once at camp I got busy working on the shelter door and door frame. I dug a hole to put the first log pole into making the frame nice and strong. I also used two and a half inch spiral nails to secure everything together. I used leather hinges to attach the door to the frame and used the tarp I already had to fill in the gaps around the door. I also made another window from clear heavy poly to help bring more natural light into my shelter. It took about five hours to complete this project which used up all my daylight. I heated up some leftover turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing over an open fire then relaxed by the woodstove for the remaining of the night.
