Roads ,Transport and Public works CEC Engineer Gideon Birir was today taken to task on his past performance during vetting by Uasin Gishu county assembly . He blamed aging staff from former local authorities for poor turnaround in his ministry . He wants younger staff hired . He also blamed transfer of more roads to counties by Kenya Urban Roads authorities thus extending roads to be maintained in the county to 6000 kilometers . Engineer Birir was reappointed by Governor Jackson Mandago .He was the first to face vetting committee. Uasin Gishu county speaker said the nominee will be forwarded to the governor for appointment should assembly approve his appointment.
