Sunday with Sarah's video: Children and Weapon Play: Should Parents Be Concerned

@Children and Weapon Play: Should Parents Be Concerned?
Children, boys in particular, are often drawn toward violent gunplay. In this episode of Sunday with Sarah, I tackle the topic of weapon play: why kids pretend to play with guns, what can/should be done about, and how to introduce a more constructive version of weapon play. As always, I'm here to answer your questions so please leave a comment or write to sundaywithsarah@bellalunatoys.com and I'll do my best to answer your question in a future video. In it, I mention a surge in testosterone that occurs in boys at around the age of four, however recent research has questioned this previously accepted theory. For more information, see this recent article on the subject, "Do Boys Really Have a Testosterone Spurt at the Age of Four?" which you can find here: http://theconversation.com/health-check-do-boys-really-have-a-testosterone-spurt-at-age-four-82587. Whether or not it is caused by a surge in testosterone, what is clear is that at around the age of four, it is not uncommon for preschool boys to start becoming interested in more active, physical play. Sorry for sharing outdated information!
