Here is the brief summary: No. 1 Yamaha started his journey in 1887 as a piano and reed organ manufacturer. No. 2 While its arch rival Kawasaki aside from making motorbikes today, also manufacturers jet engines, missiles, space rockets, etc. No. 3 Suzuki began life at the turn of the 20th Century making weaving looms for Japan’s giant silk industry. The first Suzuki motorcycle appeared in 1952 and was really a motorized bicycle called a Power Free. Today, aside from the production of motorcycles, Suzuki manufacturer’s cars, marine engines, wheelchairs and is Japan’s second largest manufacturer of small cars and trucks. No. 6 Recognized around the world as a leader in motorcycle helmets for both road and race track, ARAI was actually a hat making company founded in Japan in 1926 making headgear for the construction industry. No. 7 In 1946 Honda began selling pushbikes fitted with two-stroke 50cc generator engines. 46 years later after its launch Honda launched arguably the most technically complex production motorcycle ever made with the 1992 Honda NR750. No. 8 Did you know that modern sports bike tires do not contain any actual rubber? No. 9 Harley Davidson motorcycles, the iconic brand with most loyal following have actually a failure rate over twice than the top three motorcycle manufacturers in the world. No. 10 The name Hayabusa, as used by Suzuki, is actually a Peregrine falcon as well as a World War 2 Japanese Kamikaze fighter plane – Ki-43 known more widely as the Zero.
