Tales of Tomorrow is a vintage science fiction series that appeared on television from 1951 to 1953 on the ABC Network. It was an anthology that presented new and intriguing scenarios each week to viewers. In this episode, Fury of the Cocoon, we have everything I like in a sci fi adventure. We start with a mystery concerning a meteor strike in the jungle, and a missing scientific expedition. So right off the bat we're exploring the jungle looking for something from outer space and a bunch of scientists that need rescuing. And you can bet there's gonna be a female scientist who needs rescuing! It's 1953, after all. Cheesy effects, but a great performance. I'm sure they did the best they could do at the time. A plot that probably horrified lots of viewers back then as fresh and terrifying. A creature so ugly it may have given some viewers nightmares for the rest of their lives, or at least IBS. See the rescue attempt. Watch our heroes do battle! Who will go mad? Who will become a victim? Will science save them in the end? Join me as I self-medicate and we'll find out together!
