Earlier, Susmita Das in association with Lighthouse had presented "Dhitang Dhitang", a bouquet of 8 songs of our soil. The lyrics and music of these folk songs were inspired by the traditions and culture of different indigenous tribal groups of Odisha. Now, we are presenting a set of folk songs from coastal and rural belts of Odisha motivated by traditions, beliefs and ways of life having typical rendition styles and using conventional musical instruments. The album is titled “Kain Phoola Beni" which manifests the braid of the Mother Goddess of Village bejeweled by Lilies. Every song on this album is just like a divine lily embroidered in one braid. "Taata Maaata Karuchanti Rodana," another well-known Khanjani Bhajan, was composed by Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi (ca. 1855-94), a distinguished Mahima Cult exponent. His simple and lyrical Odiya compositions, which entail philosophical and metaphysical ideas, were on the lips of villagers. The metaphors, folk idioms, and colloquial speech give his poetry a more grounded, emotionally vibrant, and profound morality.
