Vedantha and spirituality are the Aadharasruthi for India . Women are not in need of temple entry, but of Educationa nd Economic self-suffiiciency. To a question from a listner about Indian women , Vivekananda said, being a sanyasin my knowledge of women is incomplete since I dont know woman as a wife. But I know women as mother and sister. And I know many women who come to listen to my speeches. India's model woman is Sita. And each geographic area has its own models and customs, beliefs. For Indians model woman is Mother, the first God and Sita is representing her. For west wife and lover is important, for East it is Mother and sister. The custom in the joint family is to give maximum freedom to her. Swami asked a question to the questioner. Can you say the mother as a woman has the same freedom as Indian mothers enjoy. Mothers are forgotten and relationships are changing . Social justice is not taking everything for selfish motives. It is giving away one's pleasures for the sake of society, Nation, the world. That social sense has to be there. Indians call other women as Amma. But in west, when Vivekananda called a woman as Amma , they didnt like it, because it will seem that they are old. A child is born in India by the spiritual prayers of parents. Not out of physical bonds alone. That concept or thought is there in ancient India. He spoke about the restitution of conjugal rights which was there in west. His logical and compassionate views on women, marriage, and social justice are still relevant in society. We have to think of Spirituality in this sense.
