The entire novel has its center on this personality who changes the nature and attitude of Jean Val Jean into Godliness. There are characters who can be called representative of Satan , like Thenardiar. Javert is a straightforward honest person but unknowingly he hunts the Godly Jean and when he unddrstands the folly, ends his life. Fantheen and Cosette are the innocence of life, one fallen and one rescued by God. Les Miserables tells us the secrets of life and how we are unaware of its deepest truths. It instills a deep sense of compassion in us to all living beings. And that is the most needed thing for the world in all ages, all nation,s all languages.
