Svenddiesel's video: 60 Second Caddis Fly Pattern Tutorial

@60 Second Caddis Fly Pattern Tutorial
This really doesn't 60 seconds to tie, but its one of my quicker caddis patterns that has proven to be effective at tricking rising trout into a free lip piercing. I have been in love with Straggle String by Semperfli fly tying for quite some time. By substituting the straggle string for peacock/hackle/dubbing for the body, it increases the durability, buggyness, and quickness of tying the fly. It comes in a bunch of different colors, however I primarily use the olive greens, oranges, and browns for different times of the year. Another substitute i often do is to replace the CDC with a small strip of foam because I am lazy and then don't have to treat the fly as often. However, I think that the CDC is more productive than foam strips. Tie some up and fish them in your favorite color patterns. Svend The Recipe: Hook: D- Series size 14-18 Thread: 12/0-18/0 nano silk and or waxed thread Body: straggle string Underwing: Trouthunter CDC Wing: Select Cow elk Cement: A thin UV resin/ head cement
