But it’s also the perfect time for some lessons. Beginning leash training of course obviously gets him ready for going out in public, going on walks, or all kinds of outings you might take your sweetie pie on. But it’s also teaching him an important lesson that YOU are in charge. This is vital for his safety, for his respect and looking up to you as the pack leader, and learning to not challenge you in any way. I’ve seen puppies who were NOT leash trained early struggle later to wear a harness and leash. They become resistant and stubborn.
