Margo the tiniest Chihuahua has given birth! The little puppy is a boy and was full term. However, he is struggling at this point, which is not uncommon with newborn puppies. I have stayed up with him all night trying to get him to nurse for 5 straight nights, and he's still holding on. Fading puppy syndrome is when the puppy for whatever reason fails to develop and thrive. It could be for many reasons, such as underdeveloped lungs or failure to nurse. But with a lot of sleepless nights, I'm hoping that he will start to grow and develop, and I will definitely keep you updated. In the meantime, the sweet little boy is still holding on. Margo is doing great, as a first time mommy, and she cares for him, nurses him, and keeps him clean and warm.
