We have an unfortunate update regarding Margo's puppy. Little Braveheart lived only 7 days and as much as I tried, I have to report that he did not make it. Fading Puppy Syndrome is a broad name for puppies who just fail to thrive. There could be a variety of reasons such as under-developed lungs, a liver shunt, or neurological problems. We will never truly know. The treatment for Fading Puppy Syndrome is to try to keep the puppy alive long enough that the immature system he's experiencing will resolve in time just through growth, maturity and development. Keeping him warm, fed, and well hydrated were the keys. But in the end, it was too much, and little "Braveheart" fought hard but it was too much for him. It's never easy to lose a sweetie pie, and I've lost a few over the years, including our Tina, back in December, 2019. And I'm sure you've all experienced losses over the years. It's SO hard, but our sweetie pies know when it's time. And all you can do is surround them with love as they close their eyes for the last time.
