Swimming has a lot of repetitive motions which can lead to injuries. Doing fitness training mixes up the repetitive motions done in the pool and challenges the muscles to move differently. It targets underdeveloped muscles and relieves demand on those muscles that are more stressed in the water.Fitness training comes in all sorts of variations depending on the age and level of the swimmers. For beginners, swimmers need some dryland exercises to start building athleticism. As they become more advanced athletes need weights added gradually to their program in order to incorporate strength and power into to their dryland routines, in addition to improving athleticism.
