Truth be told, I actually had no intent of trying this glitch category out. I went to Sweden to perform runs at a marathon known as ESA (European Speedster Assembly) and came back to this being discovered. Needless to say, I wasn't really surprised. Was I upset that it got discovered? No... not really. The main thing that would have upset me is if this were found back when the game was much more active; this would have killed off no-glitch activity severely, and the end results for the no-glitch records would have been entirely different. But since this game has lost a lot of its competition, it doesn't phase me all too much. So, why did I play this category? One reason; NMeade. You may or may not know, but NMeade has been planning a return for a while. We made a little wager pact that if I subjected myself to this category, that he'd attempt to reclaim the record at N64 Bowser's Castle as hard as he could. Since he's an extremely close friend, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him. So I agreed. I got incredibly lucky. I played for 9 ½ hours over the span of 2 days, repeatedly slamming into this pole. Total, I achieved 10 clips off of it that gave me a launch. Of the 10 launches I received, only 3 of them were considered far enough to count. This is easily the most finicky glitch to date. The angle is stupidly precise; trust me, it is WAY harder than it looks. The Lap 1 glitch line up was a complete fluke, hence why the lap is so low. Competing against this will be absolute hell and I'm not sure how much more of this I'm willing to subject myself to, but we'll see. I knew of Dry Bowser supposedly being faster here when trying this, but I stuck with Funky since I'm more used to how he handles and I was using his character model to line up with the pole. If I ever try this out again, I may give Dry Bowser another shot. I'm aware that the driving on Laps 2 and 3 leaves a lot to be desired, but after seeing that Lap 1 (which beat my previous Lap 1 glitch best by over 2 ½ seconds), I opted to drive slightly precarious to avoid any large mistakes. Definitely not the finest driving, but it'll do. I hope this encourages you, NMeade. ♥ Come support his stream and watch him make his glorious comeback! You won't regret it! http://www.twitch.tv/NMeade If you have any questions for me, I'll try my best to answer them in the comments. Take care, everyone.
