I've been at a bit of a low point in terms of Mario Kart Wii, and I figured that attempting this track would further lower my confidence to remind me of how burned out I am. But it turns out I was wrong... I'd been playing a lot of Wario's Gold Mine No Glitch prior to this, and it was burning me out. It had a huge impact on my motivation due to being so far out of the loop and having little to no consistency. So, out of frustration, I returned here and played a little bit in November to see if I could still achieve laps. I was having a lot more fun with it, and as a result, I played much better. On my second day of playing (November 27th), I beat my former WR from 2 years ago; the 2'04"978 run. This in itself told me something important; mindset is a huge factor when it comes to this game. More important than you'd realize. It's what separates all the players at the top; better mindset results in longer, healthier and happier sessions where more successful laps and runs are achieved. I'd lost sight of this when repeatedly grinding tracks to no end, which sapped all the fun out of it. Why play if you're not having fun, right? Long story short; Delfino December. I decided I'd go for it. Lots has changed since my BC3 upload; I've been working a job since October that has eaten into my free time heavily. Despite this, I'm gonna try to do what I can to play this course as much as I can throughout December. Nothing overly competitive, though. I'm taking a fairly casual approach this time... and it's working wonders. I'm still in complete shock at this being achieved in the time I've invested thus far. I guess it just goes to show you truly never rust at this game. That, and when you enjoy something that much (such as driving this track), under the right conditions, anything is possible. The music accurately summarizes my thoughts and feelings. The run itself is pretty decent overall, but has a handful of errors. It can definitely be brought down to a 2'04"5 at least.
