The last time I made any kind of movement here was on the 5th May 2011. That was the 1'21"924 run, which stood uncontested for 1106 days and was eventually taken down on the 15th May 2014. At the time of writing, it is the 11th longest lasting WR in the history of the game. I'm still blown away by that... So here's a brief overview regarding me; 2016 was a bit of an odd year in the sense I didn't really make much progress with this game as a whole. It's the only year since release wherein I didn't set any records. I put a lot of my focus into my second hobby; Crash 2 speedrunning. I actually represented the game at AGDQ17 which was pretty cool! (AGDQ is a charity marathon wherein games are aimed to be beaten as quickly as possible) If you're interested in that, you can see that here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvTbScUoQfo Since the start of this year I have taken a small break from that and returned to my roots; Mario Kart. I was able to make some small progress on this course last year, but I never fully felt satisfied with where I left off. Feels nice to finally hit something consistent. Part of me wants to push this some more, but it's been an absolute wild ride of emotions to get this far. The ramp is unforgiving and it is getting to the point wherein the smallest errors are run killers. I can definitely see 1'21"4 here. If not by me, then Liam (https://www.youtube.com/user/liamash971). The guy is mad talented. Keep your eyes on him if you're not! Truly and undeniably a sheer force to be reckoned with. So I think I'm gonna see what happens. I need some time to recover, but I might try my luck here again soon. If not here, then I'll probably dabble with other tracks I'm interested in. Oh, I have a new computer now, too! And I was able to move the hard drives across! Now just to find the motivation to make something that isn't a Time Trial... Like a commentary of some description... Yeah... Maybe... Maybe sometime soon... :o Either way, I'm still around and kicking and this game is very much alive.
