INTRODUCTION: Trying to work with, live with, or communicate with complicated personalities can feel impossible. Some people make a sport out of being difficult and complicated. It's as if they don't have excitement in their life and feel that their complicated personality is the only thing that gives them life. I'm sure you have dealt with complicated personalities in your life that left you feeling shame, guilt, anger, and maybe even fear. Complicated personalities are often not easy to confront, manage, and sometimes even counsel. They always have something under their sleeves and on their mind. In most cases, these individuals may manipulate, pathologically lie, control and dominate, or use passive-aggressive behavior to get their way. In some cases individuals who are difficult and have complicated personalities have mental illnesses or personality disorders that make communication very difficult.
