How to encourage yourself to do better starts with first recognizing that everything you are experiencing inside of your heart, mind, and soul is a very real part of being human. I have often been of the belief that many of my clients come to counseling or seek out consultations with me with the belief that they have to put up a front to make it through life. The reality is that doing better is not dependent upon how much you can hide and "get through" daily life. Rather, it is dependent upon how real you are about being human and how honest you can be with yourself and others. In today's video, I will discuss how to encourage yourself to do better despite having a traumatic, negative, and hurtful past. You may not get to the places you want to be as fast as you want to be. But every baby step you take out of your painful past is an important step forward.
