A psychotherapist may spend anywhere between 4-5 years in higher education to do the work they do. Becoming a psychotherapist who specializes required a bit more work than anticipated. I spent over 7 years in school, 2 years post graduate in training, and 2 years certification process. Despite the hard work it is an honor to work with people all over the world. The joy of my heart and the heart of my joy is to work with children, teens, and families offering psychotherapy, case management, and guidance. It's such a blessing and humbling experience to reach into the lives of others and help them.
