Támara Hill, MS NCC CCTP LPC's video: Why Do I Act Defensive Defense Mechanisms From Childhood Trauma Psychotherapy Crash Course

@"Why Do I Act Defensive?" Defense Mechanisms From Childhood Trauma | Psychotherapy Crash Course
Option won from the community post this week! Thank you for voting!! The other topics are coming up soon. Defense mechanism protect us from perceived threat. That threat may be something minor or it may be something major. But the defense mechanism is being used to protect you, minimize a threat, or deflect the truth. Defense mechanisms are also used by many adults who have been the victim of childhood trauma. When a child is traumatized and not properly helped/healed it is very easy for them to "create" their own way of coping. That "coping" may include a series of defense mechanisms that ultimately brings harm, emotional detachment, and further trauma. In this video, I will be discussing 3 categories of defense mechanisms including some of Sigmund Freud's logical defense mechanisms we all may use. Discussed in this video: Start 0:00 Psychodynamic theory 2:21 Coping mechanisms 3:31 Stress-induced challenges 3:48 Cortisol levels 4:00 Immature defenses 5:06 -compensation 10:24 Destructive defenses 10:51 Common defenses 11:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to subscribe for more videos: 👩‍💻 http://www.youtube.com/TamaraHtherapist *New videos Wednesday, Friday and/or Sunday, EST. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- *TRAUMA PLAYLISTS: -https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_4Wq-LrWc3piWqkmeYaa7CIfeAC5-7LJ -Healing trauma in stages: https://youtu.be/JW1xWo6zfFw -https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_4Wq-LrWc3piWqkmeYaa7CIfeAC5-7LJ Music: ––––––––––––––––––––––––––– 🎵 Track Info: -Find Your Way Beat Nana Kwabena -Bella Bella Beat Nana Kwabena ---------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: *Videos are provided for exploration and educational purposes only and does not constitute clinical suggestions or consultation for individual cases.
