Téo Bouvard's video: PWC Baixo Guandu Task 1 - fosbury over the river

Footage from the first task of the Paragliding World Cup in Baixo Guandu, Brazil. Today started off with 100% cloud cover. A 60km task with one turn point and goal half way to Governador Valadares was set. The day rapidly improved with 50% blue sky. High and low clouds gave lots of route options to avoid the shadiest areas. Andreas ‘Pepe’ MALECKI led out for most of the race. Unfortunately shade and weak conditions saw him land just short of goal. The very technical final glide due to lots of shade made it unsoarable towards the end, so pilots really needed height much further back than would normally be necessary. Michael Sigel and Marco Littame were the first to get it right. Well done to the fifty three pilots who made goal today and to the task committee (Andreas MALECKI, Michael SIGEL and Cristiano RICCI) for great task setting, avoiding most of the rain clouds.
