TALKSONLAW's video: Prisoners in a Pandemic an Interview with Columbia Law Practitioner-in-Residence Alexis Hoag

@Prisoners in a Pandemic – an Interview with Columbia Law Practitioner-in-Residence, Alexis Hoag
Jails and prisons have become petri dishes for the COVID-19 virus. The CDC has provided guidelines to be followed nationally in order to slow and eventually stop the spread of the coronavirus, such as wearing a mask when around other people, frequently washing one’s hands, and staying six feet apart. These guidelines cannot be met in a prisons or jails where inmates are constantly in contact with one another and with staff members who may bring the virus into the prisons and out to the local community. Alexis Hoag of Columbia Law School takes a closer look at the systematic inadequacies that increase inmates’ risks of contracting the virus and the constitutional rights of inmates to sue to protect their health. ► http://www.talksonlaw.com for more legal explainers and interviews with the titans of law. ► Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/talksonlaw ► Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/talksonlaw ► Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/talksonlaw ____________________
