TECHNOSLAV aka Cossack-HD's video: Fake news twist 4A Games developer s words

I hoped I won't have to make this video, but here we go. Gamers activists got their pitchforks towards the situation with Metro Exodus - when the publisher decided to partner with epic games and pull the game away from steam. As a slav, I have to protect slavic art, such as cheeki breeki and Metro. I made a video where I translated and quoted a developer, who only expressed his opinion that he wishes that the fruit of his and others' hard work would reach people who looked forward to Metro Exodus. And the day after, press used the same post, took it out of context, twisted the developer's words, used shitty translation to make a new sensation - "developer threatens the fans". How disgusting of these news makers and bloggers to rip a couple of meanings out of context and run with them. When I used the exact quote of the developer, up to the time of making this video, nobody commented on how the developer's message looked like a threat. NOBODY. And when yellow press wanted a sensation, they took the words out of context and spread it like cancer. Great work! I told that this game is not one to hate on. It's not semi-annual Battlefield, not an asset flip, it's a huge project that took over 5 years to develop, and all sadder that Deep Silver fucks it over. I told that it was the publisher to blame. But the angry mob who sleep day and night on pitchforks went with click-bait about a "threat" that was never uttered. I'm referring to the developer's saying that "In an extreme case, if all PC players boycott Metro, then even if there is going to be next Metro game, it will definitely not come to PC." First thing first, do you think if a game sold poorly on a platform for any reason, there would be next game out on the same platform? If nobody bought Half-Life 1, there would not have been Half-Life 2. It was simply the developer's personal opinion that if ALL people cared more about revolting against Epic and Deep Silver than about Metro, it wouldn't do PC gamers any better in terms of getting Metro on their hands. I see how this backfires, but in whole context, the dev meant that public reaction was disproportionate to the size of the issue and ultimately it would be a pity for all their work to not reach out because people didn't like that the game left Steam. Of course the whole situation is much more than "people don't want another launcher", it's about fighting back against Deep Silver's shitty business practices, but for the dev, all that matters is fans getting to see his work. Once again, when I gave the whole quote last time, nobody saw a threat in it. It was after news outlets decided to dress it up as a "threat" that people began seeing things that aren't there. This developer said how they went through several years of development and hardships, as a creator, he clearly wanted this game to reach out to people who want it. He is very invested in his work since it took a big part of his life, and seeing how people seemingly won't get Metro because of a minor inconvenience saddened him. And if he wanted to threat people and get the message across, would he really post it on a small forum with 15 active users, so when the message spreads through news, it's bundled with accusation of threatening? No. That was never the point of his post, he was expressing his personal opinion on how he didn't see much of an issue with the game leaving Steam, and how there were people who never were interested in the game but wanted to join on the hate train. Fake news can piss off!
