THEPHDEFENSE's video: Philippines and US Military To hold Mock Close Air Support Drill Amid Tension in West Ph Sea

In 2020, the Armed Forces of the Philippines canceled the Balikatan and some military drills due to Covid disease. This drill supposedly cancels this year but as China continue to occupy the reef. The U.S and Philippine Military will conduct several simulations in order to prepare and enhance both skills. As for the drill, the Philippine Air Force deployed an FA-50PH fighter jet aircraft to reenact its simulated close air support event, which is one of the highlights of this year's Balikatan exercises with American forces. The preparation for the close air support took place at the Col. Ravina Air Base, Crow Valley Military Reservation, Capas, Tarlac, last April 14. The Balikatan military exercise is done annually, except in 2020. The drill will ensure interoperability in terms of command, control, computers, communications, intelligence, surveillance reconnaissance, and Subject Matter Expert Exchanges between Philippine and Allied Troops.
