THEPHDEFENSE's video: US and Philippine Service Members Strengthen Military Working Dog Skills During Balikatan 23

Exercise Balikatan 23, a joint military exercise conducted by the US and Philippine forces included a bilateral K9 training session at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. During the training, service members from both nations demonstrated their K9 handling skills and exchanged knowledge on the latest techniques and strategies for K9 training. Philippine Air Force Staff Sgt. Raymond Sirue, a military working dog handler from the 773rd K-9 Squadron, shared his insights on bilateral K9 training during an interview. He emphasized the importance of such training sessions in enhancing the capabilities of the military working dogs and their handlers. The bilateral K9 training provided an opportunity for the US and Philippine service members to learn from each other and showcase their respective expertise in K9 training. Through this training, both forces can improve their K9 capabilities and develop a deeper understanding of the advantages of using military working dogs in various scenarios.
