In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has announced that it is setting up an Anti-Terrorism Squad commando center (ATS) at Deoband. On Tuesday, Shalabh Mani Tripathi, the information adviser to the Uttar Pradesh CM, tweeted that the work on setting up the ATS commando center has already begun on war-footing. In the Tweet, Tripathi stated that the decision has been taken seeing the brutality by the Taliban in Afghanistan and that nearly 18 highly-trained ATS officers from across the state will be stationed at the command center. Deoband town is located in the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh and is considered to be a major center of Islamic education.
