I did a Victoria's Secret Body Challenge about 10 years back. I ate crazy clean, worked out 6 days in the week, and skipped all alcohol. Travel changed that whole fitness journey for me because you can't really control the food on the go, and mostly don't get access to a gym. But here's how I found an easy sytem for me that's fool proof to stay fit no matter where I am: 1 intermittent fasting I start eating around 1-2PM and stop eating at 10PM. The first 6 months my body had to adjust, but actually I feel more fit and energetic by giving my body plenty of downtime to digest any food that I've eaten in that time window. 2 Portion control I use the app @myfitnesspal ( ) to track my meals. The biggest realisation was that I should have half of the normal rice portions I used to have, and that I can always have a chocolate a day (not 10 lol) 3 Natural exercise Travelling the world I fell in love with walking as exercise. Hiking is also fine, and I love HIIT too (Google it). But walking is my favourite "non-exercise" exercise. Also I do yoga once a week, which has physical benefits too (but it's mostly for my mental health). That's it. All of it. When I've binged tons of food like in this meal, or during my weeks in the Netherlands I tone it down for a few weeks and stick to healthy food with exact portion sizes. Sometimes I'll gain a kg or 2, but by taking a step back after lots of binging, it usually dissolves quickly again. I love this system because it doesn't require me to change anything about my life. I eat what I love m, and I do exercise that fits naturally in my day. PS the biggest myth that people love to hold onto for dear life is that you can outexercise a poor diet. Nope, you really can't. The amount and quality of the food you eat determines for 80% your physique. So try adjusting your diet first before hitting the gym.
