This is the first episode of the series and we've decided to start with the ECoR Garib Rath First. The only Garib Rath on the SER stretch. 12881/12882 Howrah~Puri~Howrah Garib Rath Express. This journey was taken on 5th March , 2020 when India was quite distant from the toxic claws of Corona Virus (COVID 19). The return journey was also taken on this very train. The return journey will be presented very soon. Well. Having a WAP 7 in haul serves a railfan a great deal of excitement. We had a Santragachi WAP 7 (HOG) 30553 in lead. We departed right in time from Howrah@20:55. Negotiating through a maze of tracks at Tikiapara we made it into Dasnagar crawling before time. A Mecheda Howrah EMU rattles past us after Dasnagar. We hit a sedate pace and were slowed down again at Ramrajatala owing to the reason that Digha ~ Howrah Super AC Express was just ahead of us. Still we managed to keep it to 10 mins delay at Santragachi. Accelerating at Santragachi , we saw a great fleet of locomotives at ELTS.
