TV SAMOA's video: Tupulaga o Samoa By Apollo 11

Apollo 11, was the first true Amerian Samoan musical group that became famous in the 1960s and the 1970s in both Samoa. Led by Faanu Tuanaitau of Pavaiai in Tutuila American Samoa. Some of their biggest hits included Tauivi and Sau O Le Vaveao. Tauivi was not only notoriously controversial at the time but was considered by some music historians as the most influencial Samoan song of its era. This CD (12 songs) was recorded at the renown Taupou Recording Studio in Hawaii, USA. Faanu Tuanaitau wrote some of his best songs while incarcerated at Tafuna Correction facility. His flamboyant style and colorful personality also added great popularity to Apollo XI. He also invented his own style of slack key (not ki kufa) that made Apollo XI sound unique. Faanu Tuanaitau now resides in Sacramento, California USA.
