But due to less population, there is minimum train services from Haldibari as majority of the passengers board/deboard trains from New Jalpaiguri/Siliguri which is just 56 Kms from Haldibari. This train is always the last hope if one is travelling in this route in either direction as the major trains are in evening or night and this is day train and tickets are always available in Current reservation also. After lockdown, initially this train was getting end to end diesel locomotive. But after few runs, electric locomotive is now given between New Jalpaiguri and Kolkata and diesel locomotive takes charge between Haldibari and New Jalpaiguri and the E-loco remains attached which is piggybacked till NJP. With this, diesel loco era in Eastern Railways came to end. This train consists 1 CC and 12 2S followed by 2 SLR coaches. This is a "Superfast" class train and the rake belongs to Eastern Railways (ER) and primary maintenance is done at Kolkata (KOAA). The route of this train is via JPG-NJP-KNE-BOE-MLDT-NFK-PKR-RPH-BHP-BWN-DKAE-DDJ. The loco link is SGUJ WDP-4/4B/4D from Haldibari to New Jalpaiguri and then HWH WAP-4/5 from New Jalpaiguri to Kolkata. Total journey distance is 627 Kms and is covered in 11:10 hrs @56 Kmph avg. It departs from HDB every Sun, Wed and Fri @08:30 hrs and reaches KOAA @19:40 hrs on the same day. This train has total 9 halts in the complete journey.
