Due to small platform at Kalka, few coaches of this train are detached at Chandigarh. This train is also the first train under Utkrisht project. Recently, the name of this train has been changed from Kalka Mail to Netaji Express. This train was inaugurated on 02 Jul 1855. This train consists 1 HA, 3 2A, 3 3A, 11 SL and 3 2S followed by 2 SLR coaches. This is a "Superfast" class train and the rake belongs to Eastern Railways (ER) and primary maintenance is done at Howrah (HWH). The route of this train is via CNDM-CDG-UMB-PNP-SNP-ANDI-SZM-DLI-GZB-TDL-ETW-CNB-PRYJ-MZP-DDU-SSM-GAYA-KQR-PNME-GMO-DHN-ASN-DGR-BWN(chord). The loco link is HWH WAP-7 from end to end. Total journey distance is 1712 Kms and is covered in 32:10 hrs @53 Kmph avg. It departs from KLK daily @23:55 hrs and reaches HWH @08:05 hrs on the 3rd day. This train has total 37 halts in the complete journey.
