There are numerous trains between these 2 cities of West Bengal but this train was launched along with many EMU trains to facilitate the passengers. But due to COVID situation, footfall is pretty less this season for the Mela. As a result, this train proved to be a white elephant. More to the woes, only fully reserved trains are being operated by Indian Railways post COVID-19 lockdown (except EMU trains) which is resulting in limited number passengers. This special train ran from 08 Jan 2021 to 16 Jan 2021. This train consists 6 2S coaches followed by 2 SLR coaches. This is a "Mail/Express" class train and the rake belongs to Eastern Railways (ER) and primary maintenance is done at Sealdah (SDAH). The route of this train is via JJG-MBB-BPC-PLY-BTY-KNJ-RHA-NH-BP-DDJ. The loco link is SDAH WAP-7 from end to end. Total journey distance is 228 Kms and is covered in 04:20 hrs @53 Kmph avg. It departs from LGL daily @16:00 hrs and reaches SDAH @20:20 hrs on the same day. This train has total 9 halts in the complete journey.
