Tacticull's video: S T A L K E R Gameplay

Welcome to the Zone. Following the second eruption of the Chernobyl nuclear-plant a massive tract of the Ukraine has become a tumultuous radioactive wasteland spawning mutated animals, artefacts of strange power and rumours of a Wishgranter, deep in the brain-frying, anomaly-filled core. You are one of many called STALKER's, mercenaries drawn to the mysteries within. You'll thread the loyalties of vying factions, Duty, Freedom, Clear Sky, Bandits and more as you struggle to piece together your fate. There are few games that carry menace like STALKER. You're never the hero, never the central character and nobody in the Zone gives a damn whether you live or die an irradiated death. In two of the titles you don't even know who you are so you'll fumble your way through the game slowly piecing things together. As this video shows, the gameplay isn't fast, it's measured and it's frightening. In other RPG/FPS games your objective is always where you're going, in STALKER, the entire story is about the travelling to get there. As you can see, a simple walk at night can turn up firey anomalies, wild dogs and boars or even brain-friend zombies. The final scene is an Emission, a random event where you need to get to safety or you die... after making this video I installed the STALKER Complete Mod which quadrupled the intensity and length of these events and the mod generally tweaks the entire gameplay experience into a more visceral and scary place. Truly an immersive experience, best played with mods (due to the buggy nature of the first two games). I highly recommend this series to anyone who hasn't played them. Don't worry about chronology either, just play from Shadows of Chernobyl to Clear Sky to Call if Pripyat. Come back and thank me later.
