Dr. Karen Bakker is the Matina S Horner Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, and a Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Her research focuses on the implications of digital innovation for environmental governance and sustainability and she is the author of more than 100 academic publications and seven books. Dr. Bakker’s work has been recognized by numerous awards, including an Annenberg Fellowship in Communication from Stanford University’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences and a Guggenheim Fellowship. She is a member of the Board of Global Environmental Change, a past member of the Board of the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and regularly advises international organizations on digital transformation and environmental governance. A serial entrepreneur, Karen has founded and led two social impact tech companies as CEO. She is currently the VP Strategy for Riipen, a Future of Work EdTech platform. Moderated by Matt Bongiovi.
